Intra Douro – Investimentos Turísticos S.A., a company in the Azinor group, announced that it has secured a green loan from BPI in the amount of 30 million euros, with a 15-year term.
According to the press release, the loan—entirely arranged and underwritten by BPI—is intended to support the construction of the new Evolution Gaia, a modern hotel that will expand the range of tourist accommodations in the Porto region. Evolution Gaia will be a four-star hotel with more than 185 rooms, a restaurant, a gym, and a spa, located in Vila Nova de Gaia, next to Avenida da República, just a few minutes from the D. Luís Bridge.
With a spectacular view of the Douro River and Porto’s historic center, this new hotel—scheduled to open in 2026—will embrace an innovative concept focused on new technologies and an unconventional style, while maintaining the comfort and quality that characterize the SANA brand. The building will undergo energy certification, as the investment is driven by strong sustainability concerns and goals.
