Lisbon has gained a new culinary landmark. Located in the heart of Baixa, Black Moon is an intimate and sophisticated gastrobar that is part of MYTHIC SANA - Downtown Suites, yet has a life of its own. The 32-seat venue transforms every meal into a sensory, provocative, and exploratory experience, combining elegant design with carefully curated music and signature cuisine that blends tradition, innovation, and emotion.
Black Moon was designed to reflect the new Lisbon: elegant, curious, and cosmopolitan. It is an authentic and contemporary gastrobar, designed for urban explorers, food lovers, travelers, and locals who experience the city with sophistication. More than just a dining venue, it is a manifesto of sensory elegance, where every night is an invitation to discovery, and every flavor a reflection of its own light.
In an atmosphere that combines white marble, golden hues, and deep black, Black Moon’s design blends elegance with intensity. The lighting, sound, and rhythm evolve throughout the day, with jazz and bossa nova in the morning and downtempo and cosmic funk as the night wears on, creating an atmosphere that shifts with the city’s mood.
At Black Moon, every dish is a journey. Created by chef Luís Ortiz, the gastrobar’s menu reflects a cuisine that contrasts the raw with the refined, fire with delicacy, celebrating instinct, emotion, and time. Here, every flavor tells an intense, surprising, and unforgettable story.
The chef draws inspiration from the heart of Mexico, from memories of family gatherings, and from his grandmother’s hands—which guided each recipe—to create a new reality in Lisbon, where he blends tradition and innovation with a signature style, transforming simple ingredients into unforgettable culinary experiences. At the table, each creation invites you to immerse yourself in a world where flavor, culture, and emotion come together.
The day begins with the Signature Mythic Breakfast, a semi-à-la-carte breakfast (€45), inspired by icons of the global hospitality industry. Starting at noon, the gastrobar comes fully to life, offering snacks and light dishes, wines, and champagnes, with the kitchen staying open into the evening, providing service that keeps pace with the city’s rhythm. Between 10:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., the atmosphere becomes more intimate, with a bold menu of desserts and cocktails perfect for extending the night with sophistication and pleasure.
The Black Moon menu features a variety of appetizers, including standout items such as Alvor oysters (€22 for two) or Sado oysters (€20 for six), aged cuttlefish (€16), fries with caviar (€16), and duck croquettes (€14). Among the appetizers, the “Lírio em Cinza” is one of the signature dishes (€23), along with tuna belly (€24) and Australian Wagyu chorizo (€28) with truffle-infused potato crisps.
Among the main courses, highlights include red mullet with onion purée (35€), aged duck (32€), and fried chicken with Korean sauce (30€). To sweeten the palate, there’s pau santo ice cream (11€) and the chef’s grandmother’s flan with truffle (12€).
For each dish, you’ll find the perfect pairing in the Portuguese wine list, the international selection of signature champagnes, or the exclusive cocktail creations by Hugo Carvalho, who crafts moments where every glass enhances every bite.
The bar’s champagne selection celebrates the most prestigious houses and signature cuvées, served by the bottle starting at 98€ or by the glass starting at 18€. The wine list, meanwhile, pays homage to the Portuguese spirit, bringing together top-tier producers and rare vintages that reveal the character of each region, with options starting at 12€ per glass.
